Robert Weatherwax was born into Hollywood Royalty, the top of the line dog and animal trainers. He is the third generation and final member of this exclusive dynasty.

While the name may not immediately ring a bell with most people, the mere mention of the names, Lassie, Asta, Toto, Beethoven you realize the magnitude of this family in the film and television industry.

Robert is a member of SAG, an inactive member of the Teamsters Union (399), author, trainer, animal behaviorist, public speaker, stunts, product endorsement and dog nutritionist.

Robert can’t recall ever not being around animals of all kinds, that his family trained for movies or television. Even as a child he was on set with his family training the animals.

Robert went and service his country in the Navy from 1983-1987. When he left the service he started his own career in the entertainment industry. Working on numerous movies and television shows sometimes being credited and sometimes uncredited.

There are a multitude of dog trainers who have attempted to mimic the Weatherwax training protocols but none have really emulated the tricks of the trade and effectiveness of their training.

Robert wrote a book entitled “Training Your Dog the Weatherwax Way”, where he shares training tips and stories regarding this family’s dynasty.

He has his own training business Weatherwax Dog Training aka Star Quality Dog Training in Texas. Robert comes to your home, this way the dog is more comfortable and amenable to training in its comfortable environment.

He specializes in behavioral problems to prevent owners from turning their dogs into shelters. Robert’s training allows the dog to adapt to acceptable behavior so that the owner now wants to retain ownership of the dog.

He works with veterans regarding PTSD, as he has seen what our service members were exposed to.
